Open the account first, buy the coin second
This is the ordering that prevents the single most expensive mistake available here. The cashier at a crypto casino lists which assets it settles in and which networks it credits, and both lists are readable before the account holds any money. Buying coin first and reading afterwards is how people end up holding an asset the site converts on arrival, or sending on a network it does not credit at all.
| Read this | Where | Decides |
|---|---|---|
| The asset list | the cashier | what to buy at the exchange |
| The network list | the deposit screen | which chain to send on |
| The minimum deposit | the cashier | how much to buy |
| The withdrawal ceiling | the terms | how many fees you will pay later |
All four are free to read and none of them requires a deposit.
The name, and why it is the whole game
Registration asks for a name and most people type it without thinking. Later, at verification, that name has to match a government document, and the bank account that eventually receives money has to match both. A mismatch discovered at that point is not resolved by uploading the same document again.
- Match the document exactly. Including middle names, spellings and order.
- One person, one account. Accounts opened for someone else are the fastest route to a held withdrawal.
- The exchange account too. The chain of accounts should read as one person throughout.
Deciding the amount
A figure, chosen before anything moves. Not a range, not "whatever is left over". At a working rate of about KSh 129 to the dollar, the minimums these sites state land around KSh 1,290 and up — but a minimum is what an operator will accept, not a recommendation about what to send.
Most sites also provide deposit limits in account settings. A limit set while a balance is empty is a different decision from one contemplated later, and deciding the amount first is about exactly that.
The password and the second factor
A casino account holds money and is reached from a phone, which puts it in the same category as a banking app and not in the same category as a forum login. Two habits cover most of the risk: a password used nowhere else, and two-factor authentication switched on in the account settings if the site offers it.
The reason the first matters more than it sounds is that credentials leaked from some unrelated service are tried in bulk against gambling sites precisely because those accounts hold balances. A password reused from an old forum is the most common way an account is lost, and it has nothing to do with the casino's own security.
What the signup form actually asks
On the sites in this catalogue, registration is short: an email address, a password, sometimes a currency choice and a date of birth. No documents at that stage. The currency choice is worth a moment — it sets what the balance is displayed in, and changing it later is frequently not possible.
The date of birth is not a formality even though nothing is checked at that moment. It is the declaration the operator relies on, and an account that cannot later pass the check it implies is an account whose balance is not going anywhere. Verification explains when that check arrives.
